10/28/2023 0 Comments Samba restaurant new yorkI can't wait to share Samba's with all my friends. This will be my new home away from home kitchen. It also had a fried egg on top of the steak that was coated with a light garlic sauce. You know kind of like the ones you had as a child growing up. I had the strip steak, on top of thinly sliced potatoes which were fried. I usually eat vegetarian, but went with something you can't get anywhere else in this city. I also decided to experiment and order something unlike my typical palette. Tequila, Cashew Water, Ginger and Lime, Yummy. Both were superb, but I went with something I never had before which was the Tex Mule. The bartender was so kind and let me sample the Sangria and the Black Brazilian Beer. When I walked in I was instantly greeted with warmth and smiles. Oh well, but I had to break my silence because Samba's is the place to go and you need to know about them. I feel I should start getting paid for my reviews, because I have quite a few dedicated readers. I haven't written a review for tripadvisor in a while even though I have plenty of places that I've eaten at, traveled to and slept at. It felt like a mini vacation going to someplace different which didn't feel like the busyness in Hell's Kitchen on a Sunday during brunch. Second time, I said this is the place to be. Grant you I walked past two times before I went in. I need a lay low kind of place that had a unique and nice vibe. I really didn't want to pay for a lot of sugary drinks. I was in search of a place to have a nice quite brunch and you know how hard that is in Hell's Kitchen. The rest of the family had chicken breast, shells and a selection of what I will describe Brazilian Gyoza, or Brazilian Pierogi, which were also very good. You should try the Caipirinha, for one they are not cheap with the alcohol. You can tell our waiter was happy and proud of the food they served, it does add to the flavor of the meal. The Samba bistek drowning in yummy garlic sauce was great, the potatoes made just right and the Yucca flour which I had never heard of was amazing, adding texture and crunch to the whole dish. Our waiter, Ernesto took our order and recommended dishes that are faster to make. We came in at 7:00 and told the staff that we need to make it to a show at 8:00, they moved to hyper speed mode. Family owned restaurant dedicated to providing the best quality food and service. We encourage walks in of any size during lunch, brunch and dinner. But more than that come because the food is great, and the staff are welcoming and genuinely happy to share their Brazilian food with the rest of us.
